(Menu  Options -> Backup When Saving (*.bak))

Creating backups automatically
When you save a file in the script editor, e.g. the file "C:\GuiXT\Scripts\va02_textdisplay.txt", the backup feature will automatically copy the existing file under a new name. In the construction of this name, date, time and the .bak extension to the file name are appended

"C:\GuiXT\Scripts\va02_textdisplay.txt.20050221.163105.bak"

Subdirectory for backups
Usually the directory containing the scripts is overloaded after some time due to saving scripts on a regular basis. To avoid this you can set the scripteditor to save backups in a subdirectory "\backups" within the directory of the script being edited.
